It was with this background, M/s National Social Cultural Development Foundation, an NGO has conducted a survey of most backward villages such as Devapura, Ontiangadi, Gonikoppal, Siddapura and other villages of Virajpet taluk of Madikeri district in Karnataka. Most families of above villages do not have houses and live in huts or raw houses and don't have access to potable water and electricity.
